Hurricane Matthew: Jude Celestin wasn’t bluffing, the bridge is ready to be installed
The presidential candidate Jude Celestin had made a bold statement, after hurricane Matthew’s horrific destructions in South West of Haiti. He declared after his assessment he would build a new bridge in 8 days, after a bridge that connected Grand’Anse, Sud, and Nippes to the rest of the country had collapsed.
Many folks on social media, had found that very amusing, and question themselves, how is he going to build a bridge in 8 days? As many Haitians know, the Haitian government can take months if not years, just to fix a pothole.
Today October 6th, the presidential candidate share on his Facebook page, pictures of the segments of the bridge assembly, laying on the ground, saying the bridge is ready and also his technicians, waiting on the government authorization to start working. (Le pont est disponible, mes techniciens aussi, j’attends seulement l’autorisation du gouvernement pour démarrer les travaux.)
After all, Jude knew, what he was talking about, he knew there was a bridge sitting somewhere he could put to good use. Even if many people eyes, they will say that’s politics, but the people of the Grand’Anse, Nippes and South (Les Cayes) can take a bridge out of him. Now it’s time for the government to approve his proposal, and let him work.
